Sometimes I create boxes in my mind and fit God into them. One of these boxes I had, was that one should always have a paid job and that is how someone responsible ought to survive. I was wrong, not all work God may call someone to fits in that box! For the last few years, Emilie and I have never have and never will receive a paycheck from they guys we work fulltime with. We are still alive and well, still paying rent and food and insurance etc. God was legit when He said He'll provide, and I was wrong in my assumption there is only one right way to live.
In the scriptures, it is written, 'seek first the Kingdom of God and He will give you everything you need'*. We sought, and for this season are working with YWAM Townsville. We needed a car, a place to live, visas, medical care, food, phones, plane tickets and internet. And God has provided through family and friends, governments, churches, businesses and even sometimes even random people on the street. The way in which He provides for needs often changes though.
It is not just on a personal level though, but at work as well. I once helped set up all the service schedules for a large AC system. It is an old system that we did not build. Just when I was needing all the specs for the system, someone came in with an old report on paper outlining every component of the system in detail down to serial numbers and belt sizes, the person who brought it to me didn't even know I needed it! Within the last two weeks, all those units came up for servicing and there 'just happened' to be a guy on one of our training schools who worked previously as an AC technician. He serviced an entire building block. God knows the needs and the timing.
On a regional level in February, Townsville needed rain. Badly. Since April 2014 there had been no solid rain and the dams levels had consistently dropped. People were asking the Lord for help, and then churches went down to the dam and all prayed together around the 7th**, on the 24th Feb the dam was at over 80% eventually reaching over 90%! There was a lot of joy that month as some kids had never experienced a wet season!
Sometimes we have a little, sometimes we have a lot, but we have never been without roof or food. God is good, and He keeps his word!
Lots of Love,
Quick details:
- Kristin got her visa!!! Thank you for praying =D
- Praise God for providing! Finances are tighter than usual at the moment, and 2 weeks ago we received an anonymous $800 donation which helped us pay some bills we had no idea how to pay!
- Please pray for wisdom in preparing our department (Property Development and Maintenance) to engage more in the community. As well as for the right partnerships to form and flourish.

* Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
